Since my problems with email, I've been using the PC more than before.

With Thunderbird, I can leave all the mails on the server. Happy to go
online to the servers to delete them when needed.

Is there a way of doing this with Pluto as the email reader - and not
downloading duplicates of those it has already had? Realise it's not a
Pluto thing - but I want to keep that as my email reader.

If you are using Hermes the answer is yes to not downloading duplicates.

Hermes - Mail Accounts-Select the account click Edit.

Click the Fetching button and the choices are yours to select.

And there is a similar setting in AntiSpam, under the General tab in
Choices. I am pretty sure there is also in POPstar, if you are still
using that.

Pluto is not involved at all - it just stores what has been
downloaded.
